Even the Dictionary is Political

Our current world is so political that you can’t even leave politics if you want to look at the dictionary. The dictionary Merriam-Webster recently took a step into the political ring by making the word of the year ‘justice’.

As the PEOPLE headline says

Merriam-Webster Announces 2018 Word of the Year — and It’s a Low-Key Dig at President Trump

We actually live in a world where a source for definition of words somehow makes itself political. Oh how I love democracy.

And Merriam-Webster can’t even not give homage to John McCain, another of their words that was on their words of year list was ‘Maverick’. An obvious reference to John McCain, which I still see news articles about how sad his death is months after. This society is so politicized that an actual dictionary becomes political. Imagine that.
